Charities We Work With
If you are unfamiliar with Toys for Tots, it's an excellent program run by the US Marine Corps and US Marine Corps Reserves. They collect toys for boys and girls whose parents can't afford to give them the Christmas they would like to be able to give. There are so many amazing people that lend a hand and donate to the program. It's a natural fit for us. We split our donation to them 50/50. Half of the money is donated as cash throughout the year, the other half is used to purchase toys that we can donate at the end of the year for Christmas time.
What an amazing, heartwarming and incredibly sad story this is. This 4 year old girl had more courage than most adults. At 4 years old, Alexandra "Alex" Scott was diagnosed with childhood cancer. At 4 years old she decided to do something about it and setup a Lemonade stand in her front yard with the help of her brother to raise money to find a cure. Alex died at the age of 8 but never gave up her dream and in those 4 years, Alex's Lemonade Stand raised over $1 Million dollars. Inspired by their daughter, her parents left their jobs to continue to run this amazing charity. We can't imagine anything more tragic than losing a child at such a young age and we are privileged to have the opportunity to try to live up to the high bar that Alex set.
