We have this wooden baby rattle in two different finishes, natural oil and unfinished. The wooden rattle you are looking at right now has a natural oil finish. This is an FDA approved plant oil based finish. No allergenic nuts are used. This is a true oil finish and does not shine nor set really hard. It does, however, leave a rich amber appearance on our wood. The ends of this baby rattle are made from sustainable maple wood and the little ovals move freely to give that great wooden baby rattle sound.

Maple Landmark Woodcraft is an impressive company with a long history. They are based in Vermont and all of their products are made by them, right here in the USA. They source all of their wood locally from a supplier who is conscientious about renewable wood resources and any scrap that is left is turned into sawdust and donated to local farmers for cow bedding. Since most of the products they carry are toys, they are very focused on toy safety and take their responsibility to their customers very seriously. They are a small company of 30 people with a strong passion for what they do and it shows in the quality of their product.
